Men's Gadgets and Gizmos

Most men love to play with gadgets and gizmos. Since a young age I like most men enjoyed watching films like James Bond, Inspector Gadget and other such films. I remember being amazed by the mens accessories such as the amazing watches and although I realised it was just science fiction I couldn't help wonder what the future had install.

Many years have passed since then and the technology really has caught up with those futuristic ideas and surpassed many of them. Who would have thought that we would now have SMART phones with the power to record video's, surf the internet, mange are online bank accounts and do a lot more than many desktop computers could have done only 10 years ago.

Looking back to 1992 we were all amazed at the introduction of the Sharp View Cam which boasted it's 1.33 megapixel still images and LCD screen. This really was the must have in video recording but now this doesn't compare to the video quality of today. Video recorders have become smaller and smaller and now we have HD video recorders and even 3D home video recorders at a fraction of the price of the Sharp View Cam when it was first introduced.

We were amazed at the thought of having watches which could record videos or had GPS navigation or the ability to call people. Well now this is a reality and seen as a bit of gimmick and not as practical as we first would have thought when watching such films as James Bond. Although GPS on watches has proved to be extremely useful for people such as walkers, runners or climbers who want to track their progress and check their stats online once they have finished.

Touch screen technology has really advanced recently with the introduction of SMART phones and tablets. With manufacturers such as Apple really raising the game with the Ipad 2 competition is fierce and each time a new SMART phone or tablet is introduced the processors become faster and the touch screens become more responsive and smoother.

As well as SMART phones a tablets there are gadgets such as the Amazon Kindle which has introduced us all to the power of E ink technology which reduces the amount of power required prolonging battery life so that you can go for as long as a month in between charges. Although the screen is black and white and this doesn't seem as advanced as some of the other gadgets previously listed this is really a major step in technology and I'm sure we will see a colour version soon.

With technology advancing at such a fast pace now it is hard to think of what kind of fantastic mens gadgets and women's gadgets will be available in the next ten years or even the next five years. It seems as time passes the only limits to what can be achieved will be the limits of people's imagination. One thing for certain is the next couple of years will be very exciting and who knows we may even have robots walking around like in the film I-robot.
